HealthCore's Integrated Research Network (IRN™) is a collaborative research community of clinical consultants including physicians, ancillary providers, facilities, pharmacies, health plans, and HealthCore. The IRN™ facilitates exchanges between these groups in order to translate research to relevant information and produces actionable knowledge to optimize clinical outcomes to improve the efficiency, value and safety of the health care delivery system. Collectively this community contributes valuable insights to the body of evidence which informs decision makers on medical and public health policy issues.
Thus the IRN™ is the human element of HealthCore’s data, leveraging HealthCore’s research environment and its rich and evolving longitudinal data source, the HealthCore Integrated Research Database™ (HIRD). IRN™ clinical consultants will continually enhance the unique scale and scope of research with the mission of evaluating real world medical treatments, devices, drugs, and patient management programs. Studies will integrate health plan administrative claims data, pharmacy utilization data, laboratory results, clinical elements from chart abstraction processes, and patient and physician survey data. It’s the collaboration of IRN™ members that will provide the foundation for prospective observational, safety, epidemiologic, health economics and health outcomes research. Additionally, IRN™ clinical consultants will be involved in key national initiatives including development of the HealthCore Safety Sentinel System™ (which is being developed in close collaboration with leading government and academic institutions), National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded research, and other projects that have the potential to improve the safety, quality, and affordability of care.
Through appropriate interpretation and translation of analytic findings, provision of supplemental data, survey participation and discussion group contributions, IRN™ clinical consultants will provide valuable insights to make health care safer, more efficient, and higher quality.
